Purolator USA Names Michael DiBenedetto to Head New JFK Branch Office
Jericho, NY – October 8, 2008 – Purolator USA, the small-package and freight forwarding subsidiary of Canada’s largest integrated distribution services company, has appointed Michael DiBenedetto to head its recently opened New York City branch facility. The facility is located in close proximity to JFK airport, and will process shipments from the tri-state area. Purolator USA provides delivery options for small package and freight shipments traveling between the United States and Canada, as well as within the United States.
DiBenedetto brings to his new position more than 20 years of management and operations experience in the transportation logistics industry.
“Mike’s extensive service in the industry, and his breadth of knowledge about logistics and cross border issues make him a great fit,” says John Costanzo, president of Jericho-based Purolator USA.
“We have had our eye on establishing a facility in the New York region for some time. Obviously this is a critical market, and it’s important for Purolator USA to have a presence here, Costanzo added. Mike DiBenedetto is exactly the right person to open this facility for us, and heighten Purolator’s visibility in the New York market.”
Exports from the U.S. into Canada have been a bright spot for the U.S. economy in recent years. The U.S. State Department reports that more than $1.5 billion in goods cross the border on a daily basis. This increased level in export activity has created a demand for logistics providers, such as Purolator USA, with cross border expertise.
“There is a huge demand for competition in the transportation logistics industry,” Costanzo added. “I am confident that businesses will appreciate Purolator’s thorough knowledge of the cross border process, commitment to customer satisfaction, and competitively priced services.”
Purolator USA has operations in both Canada and the United States, which provide access to established and extensive distribution networks throughout either country. Through its Purolator Trade Solutions service, Purolator USA provides access to cross border trade specialists, who can easily navigate U.S./Canadian customs regulations and procedures.
Purolator USA also offers small package and freight delivery services within the United States. In addition, Purolator USA offers options for shipments traveling from Canada to the U.S. “Our expertise in cross border logistics makes this an ideal option for Canadian customers who need to move products south,” Costanzo added.
The company is recognized in the logistics industry for its high commitment to customer service. “Every one of our customers is assigned a service representative, who works closely with that customer to develop a transportation plan that meets each business’ unique needs,” DiBenedetto explained.
“I look forward to introducing our high level of customer service, our extensive menu of logistics options, and of course our competitive prices to businesses to the New York area,” he added.
Purolator USA doubled the size of its U.S. office network during the past 12 months, with branches now operating in Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, Buffalo, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Philadelphia, Raleigh/Durham, New York City and Newburgh, NY.
