Purolator International Named to Supply & Demand Chain Executive “100 Great Supply Chain Projects” for 2015

Purolator International, a leading provider of cross-border logistics, today announced its inclusion on the Supply & Demand Chain Executive  “100 Great Supply Chain Projects” for 2015.  Purolator International received this honor based on its work with Color by Amber, a women’s at-home jewelry party company that wanted to expand its business into Canada.  Purolator International developed and implemented a robust e-commerce solution, allowing Color by Amber to provide hassle-free, guaranteed 2-8 day delivery to all Canadian customers. After partnering with Purolator International in August of 2014, Canada has grown to make up two thirds of Color By Amber’s business, with customers in every province from British Columbia to Nova Scotia.

Purolator International’s PuroPostTM solution takes an innovative approach, providing service to all residential locations in Canada by focusing on the end consumer experience.  Through Purolator International’s partnership with Canada Post, the PuroPost product provides B2C shipping services to all Canadian postal codes, even remote provinces and P.O. boxes, giving it the ability to reach 34 million Canadians – virtually all Canadian addresses. All packages arrive at the Canada border fully compliant with customs requirements and pre-approved for clearance into Canada.

With PuroPost, Canadian consumers receive their on-time delivery from their familiar Canada Post uniformed delivery person.  Additionally, consumers will benefit from a high degree of visibility.  Notifications are sent when a package is shipped, and again when delivery has been made. Customers can also track their packages online throughout the process.

“Purolator International has helped Color By Amber to experience unprecedented growth in the Canadian market by providing our stylists with a trusted shipping partner so products arrive to our customers as promised and without any additional fees or issues at the border,” said Jason Slatter, CEO, Color By Amber.

Color By Amber is a successful U.S-based business, based in Salt Lake City, UT.  Most orders originate from stylist-hosted jewelry parties.  After the parties, orders are placed via the website and shipments are sent from their headquarters directly to the customer. Some orders are also placed directly by the consumer from the Color By Amber website.

“We are delighted to once again receive the honor of being named to the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100,” said Jon Routledge, VP Sales and Marketing, Purolator International.   “Ecommerce from U.S. based businesses is in strong demand for Canadian consumers, but many retailers are concerned about the logistical requirements, especially customs.  We are experts in cross border customs clearance, and are uniquely positioned to help U.S. companies expand their business into Canada.  PuroPost is the perfect solution to make cross border shipments simple and help ensure that end consumers are satisfied with their online shopping experience.”

The full list of 2015 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 will be published in the magazine’s June issue.  The publication honors these supply chain solution and service providers for helping their customers and clients achieve supply chain excellence.
