In 1998, Purolator USA (a subsidiary of Purolator Courier, Ltd.) was incorporated in the US and began to grow the US market. In 2001, John Costanzo, joined as President with the task of executing Purolator’s strategic growth plans and develop the business overall.
Purolator’s efforts to be a good corporate citizen are rewarded as it earned a prestigious 2005 Canada Awards for Excellence, from the National Quality Institute. It is the first of many such awards.
From 2006 through 2009, Purolator earned prestigious Canadian awards for its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and fuel consumption and the fight against hunger (Purolator Tackle Hunger program). During this time, Purolator also earned some of the highest consumer satisfaction ratings and was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 10 Corporate Cultures.
While earning this recognition, Purolator didn’t stand still. From 2007 through 2009, Purolator significantly expanded its cross-border shipping capabilities by opening processing facilities in Los Angeles, North Carolina, Texas, Pennsylvania and New York.
In 2009, Purolator introduced Beacon, a sophisticated online portal where customers can track shipping to and from Canada as well as manage billing and reporting.
2010 was a busy year, as Purolator USA earned recognition as the preeminent cross-border shipping company, with faster transit times and fewer delays, reduced costs and superior logistics and supply chain solutions. Purolator USA launched Purolator Express, an overnight express service from the US to Canada. Customers felt the immediate impact as the Canadian market became ever easier to reach.
In 2011, Purolator Courier, Inc. changed its name to Purolator, Inc. With this change, Purolator USA merged with Purolator Global Supply Chain Services to form one entity, Purolator International, Inc.
In 2015, Purolator International was recognized as a leader in client service and transportation services by several independent journals, including Logistics Management, Inbound Logistics, Supply & Demand Chain Executive, and SupplyChainBrain.
